Cellar Door Manager
In 1986 I moved to McLaren Vale as it appealed to me as a beautiful area to raise my children and quickly fell in love with town, the friendly people and the rolling vineyards.
I soon obtained work in the wine industry at Maxwell Wines. My duties at Maxwell’s ranged from helping in the Cellar and pumping wine, to marketing and design, exporting, arranging the Sea & Vines Festivals and managing the Cellar Door. 25 years later, I am still in the wine industry, working with the Buttery and Brown families at Gemtree Vineyards and loving it.
Working with a small family-owned winery means being involved with all aspects of the business, but that is what I enjoy so much about being in this industry. Since the relocation and subsequent re-opening of the Cellar Door to our Main street heritage site; I now manage the Cellar Door and look after the domestic market sales. I also consider myself to be Gemtree’s tourist guide for visitors to the region, and enjoy introducing them to the amazing region we have to offer.
Other than my love of wine; wine tasting; visiting cellar doors and dining at the local restaurants, I also love spending time with my family and two golden retrievers; cooking and enjoying time on South Australia’s gorgeous beaches.
