100% Shiraz sourced from a combination of our oldest vineyard on Tatachilla Road and from Gemtree's home block.
This is our 10th release of Luna Roja. When we planted the variety back in 1999 it was very much about experimentation - now Luna Roja represents a true expression of what we do at Gemtree. No additions, 100% natural from the vineyard to bottle.

A Bordeaux blend with a difference! This wine offers three very distinct flavor profiles from the Cabernet Franc, Mourvedre and Petit Verdot used in the blend.

At Gemtree we are continually pushing the boundaries of experimentation in viticulture and winemaking. In 2004 one such experiment took place and the result will astound those who indulge.
Obsidian is hand crafted wine — we grow the grapes specifically, hand select the ultimate sections in the vineyard, vinify separately and then only the best barrels make the cut, ensuring only 1% of our total shiraz production makes the Obsidian grade. Winemaker Mike Brown's philosophy is simple — minimal intervention across all stages of the winemaking process.

Like its namesake gemstone which balances yin-yang energy, this wine is all about extraordinary balance for its age!

The Tadpole Shiraz is an untamed animal — zero filtration, zero fining and minimal intervention.
