- The Wine
This is our 10th release of Luna Roja. When we planted the variety back in 1999 it was very much about experimentation - now Luna Roja represents a true expression of what we do at Gemtree. No additions, 100% natural from the vineyard to bottle.
- Colour
- Deep red, purple and black hues.
- Nose
- Black jubes, olives, plums, cinnamon, raspberry conserve, Chinese 5 spices, mocha and savoury oak.
- Palate
- Plush intense dark jubey fruits with subtle amounts of red liquorice dominate the front palate. Red fruits, spices and savoury tannins give the wine length and layers. Ultimately this wine screams food.

The 2011 growing season presented us with good winter and spring rains. The warm days and cool nights leading up to harvest provided us with near perfect conditions.
