Only 1% of the total Gemtree shiraz intake makes into Obsidian, and then spends three years in new French oak. The hue is remarkable, still crimson-purple, and the wine is crammed full of flavour, blackberry fruit with its McLaren Vale signature of dark chocolate, and — of course — French oak.
